(Wildlife creatures) Environmental Funerals - Go Green after Death
No commentsBy lee101
Death is a part of life and so are funeral services. But did you know how much damage we do to the earth even after we have stopped living? Did you know that 60 million trees are axed every year to build coffins? Gases released during cremation account for 16 percent of the mercury emissions in U.K. Construction of vaults for burials lead to the introduction of about 1.6 million tons of concrete in the soil. The number of people who die each year is about 56 million now and this figure is expected to increase twofold by 2040, so things will only get worse.
We don’t really stop to think of the materials that are used to manufacture items like caskets that are used in traditional funeral services. According to recent research, the quantity of metal used to make the caskets used in North America is equal to the amount of metal used to manufacture the Golden Gate Bridge. Some funeral service rituals sometimes require embalming. Since these embalming fluids are supposed to retard the process of decomposition of the body by inhibiting the growth of bacteria, they also inhibit the growth of bacteria and other important enzymes in the soil.
To prevent all this damage to the environment, we can now choose to opt for greener funeral services.
Green burial tips
One way of ensuring that a funeral is environmentally friendly is to use a biodegradable casket. If you use a coffin made of used paper, buried in a place where there are trees and shrubs, the body will slowly become a part of the environment.
Another method is to cremate the body before it needs to be embalmed. If the body is embalmed, cremating it leads to air pollution because of the toxic gases released during the cremation.
Headstones also lead to pollution because they obstruct the growth of trees. Thus you may choose to have a living memorial for yourself or your loved one in the form of a tree. If this becomes a practice then it will be easier for the survivors of the decedent to cope with the loss because they will have a living substitute for the person who is no more and also lead to the planting of millions of trees. There are more than two hundred environment-friendly burial sites in England, so you can choose the one that is close to your home.
Another novel environment-friendly option is to get your ashes mixed with reef material. This material is then placed in an ocean. Eventually it becomes a new reef. This promotes the growth of organisms that grow on reefs and restores the ecological balance of the planet.
With so many options, it is now much easier to plan a funeral service and burial that will not harm the environment.

Eco Friendly Products and its Significance
By paul_thomas
Todays technology has changed peoples life style around the world to a great extent and people have almost forgotten about the ecology around them that keep them alive. In todays satiation we are in a compulsive state to explain about the importance of Eco friendly products at least to the future generation. Being eco friendly must start from every home. Children must be taught about using only Eco friendly products in the future so that the damages made by their ancestors are rectified at least in their generation slowly but surely. We have been using harmful chemicals to fertilize the soil and pray the crops with pesticides to make the field yield more but do we ever realize how harmful is it to the biological cycle and ecology to have such harmful no degradable chemicals to be dumped in excess that will make the fertile fields barren in 10- 15 years.
What are we going to do when fertile rich lands that yielded food crops to us turning completely barren one fine day and when every one of us in the world are left without food for consumption? In spite of a lot of awareness programs being conducted about using biological methods and degradable methods of fertilization and pest control, a lot of lethargic people are still going for excessive usage of chemicals thinking that they are making their land yield more. But, the sad truth is that it is a much that will lead to permanent loss and unhealthy damage to the human race and other living organisms.
Every one of are in fact bound to tell about the significance of the Eco friendly products to the younger generation so that they will boost the growth of Eco friendly products in their time. Weather it is small or big but even a small change will impact and is surely a way out from this era of global warming, green house effects and natural calamities that are resulting due to the green house gases.
Eco friendly products are nothing but products that are being manufactured with the thought that the procedure of producing as well as distributing those products are not having any kind of negative impacts or harm to the environment or ecology. A lot of leaned people are against harmful chemicals and are encouraging the use and production of Eco friendly products. Its high time that we support and stand for such Green Movements and idea that brings out the conscious of the public about using only Eco friendly products in the future if they want to stop great disasters from happening. One of the ways to promote eco friendly products is by going for products like eco-friendly printers or green printers. Business card printing, color printing services, full color digital printing, printing brochures, printing postcards and all other services must follow the FSC Rules to be good eco friendly products. When you choose a good eco friendly product you naturally save the greenery around you.
On the other hand, you not just protect the environment and your future generation form harm but also protect the rights of individuals to carry out a fair trade policy. Eco friendly products are something that will be giving a bester tomorrow and a decently safe working environment for people work in manufacturing industries. Industries will have to plant more trees, overhaul and use power wisely without wasting to save energy, must use organic stuffs for the production, packing, selling and distribution of their finished products.
